Watercolor May Bullet Journal

Bullet Journaling is a relaxing and fun way to keep all your thoughts in one place and make sure you get your “to dos” done!

We have made it to May! And I think my life might be lighting on fire. But that’s a good thing. With a very busy month about to come my way, I though that a the positivity of my journal was something I really needed.

And what is more positive that a large, in your face, blotch of yellow?!? This is a bit of a shift from the mixture of Aprils orange / yellow. It feels brighter and a lot louder. Although I did multiple different shades of yellow, they all seemed to blend into one giant blob of the yellow color.

The splotch is made through the watercolor transfer technique I have been using. I painted a combination of yellow watercolor onto a plastic surface and then flipped it onto the paper. Once again, I added too much water to this transfer as I got one giant blob instead of the blotchy effect that I normally attempt for.

I wanted to go back to the henna style of drawing that I last did in March. There weren’t many holes to fill so I decided to fill in all the space that was not covered in the yellow color. This took a little longer than I anticipated but I adore how the image turned out. A lot of henna flowers to celebrate spring!

Laura – A creative planning and journalling addict who lives in the North East of England, My current passions are my bullet journal, my Traveler's Notebook for memory keeping, my DSLR for taking nature photos, my new watercolour paints and my papercrafting supplies. I also own and run LJDesignsNE on Etsy where I sell pretty and functional goodies to fellow planner and journaling addicts.

I’ve never used this technique to add watercolour to my bullet journal, although I did give it a go to transfer to some watercolour paper and it’s great fun. I might give it a go next month.

    1. Its a fun technique! I hope it works well for you!
