A Bullet Journal is a great way to organize your life, keep notes on what you need to do, and organize your hopes /dreams while being creative!
Yay!! It’s finally spooky month. We have already done some preliminary decorating and have been playing horror games for a while, but it feels more real when it’s October. This fall has been a little less fall-like than I would have wanted. The weather has remained decently warm. It may be a bit cold in the morning, but by the afternoon, it’s in the mid-to-upper seventies. Which is too hot for sweaters. And I live for sweaters, so I am saddened by this.
But not even the weather will stop me from my spooky vibes. I seem to have ghosts on my mind this year. Especially considering my last project was also ghost-related… Now I’m wondering if I should keep this going for the next month XD. We’ll see… I really enjoyed making these ghosts since I could play with their shape and form to make them fit the spread.

october
Once again, I decided to change things up. For the last few months, I had the month title, calendar, habits, and my “one line a day” for gratitude over three pages. The first three were on a shared page spread, while the last one was on a page by itself. It was a bit crowded, but I think it looked nice. But I also like changing things.
This month, I wanted to do the spread over 4 pages. I wanted to give more space to the calendar as well as make a bigger artistic spread. Ghosts were clearly on the mind when I started drawing. The idea of making ghosts shaped like letters was something I wanted to have fun with. Although I found surprisingly few references for what I wanted.
Due to how the calendar turned out, I also ended up with some space on the bottom of the left page. This felt like a weird bit of area since I didn’t feel like the ghosts worked in this section. So, I added another classic Halloween element: pumpkins. Being at the bottom, or ground, of the page, it made a lot of sense to have the pumpkins in this area.
October Habits and Calendar
There has been a calendar design stuck in my head for quite some time, and I decided to finally go with it. While there are still 7 days with a line, the edges of the line are more blurred than in a standard calendar. I like using the moving, overlapping squares. It almost reminds me of floating paintings. I love how it’s organized chaos.
Then I went really different with my habits. Well, sort of… I kept my two trackers. Still split apart so I could have them in better alignment for my needs. That has been working out well for me. The trackers were located on the opposite sides of the page just to give more contrast and space between the two.
But then I was left with the center being vacant. That’s when I remembered my “one line a day” gratitude page. Both the habits and gratitude are tracked daily, so keeping them all on one page really makes sure I won’t forget. Or, if I do, I’m forgetting everything and not just parts. I used a gray and orange highlighter to stay within the spooky colors and add a few ghosts to the empty spaces.
Last Month’s Habits
I feel like I am all over the place. I think I did relatively well for some of my habits and horribly on others. Not that I mind. But having those habits on my list did remind me that I wanted to do those things. Even if I was never able to get to them. I am continuing to use a rainbow of colors because I like to be able to identify the habit briefly. If everything were the same color, I think I would have to trace the title down the graph, which would make it a bit more tedious for me.
