A Bullet Journal is a great way to keep your life in one place and have notes on what you need to do while being creative!
I feel like time is a luxury that I do not have. But maybe I will find it this month since we are getting an extra day! I have now had a month to test out my 2024 journal and I am really enjoying it! There is quite a bit of blank space in some of my weekly spreads, but I don’t mind filling that with stickers and drawings.
For February, I decided to do a little more mixed media art using vintage-inspired paper. I thought it would be fun to bring in some extra paper as an added decoration. But I wanted a more chaotic look which I kind of achieve by tearing the paper instead of cutting it.

February
I did notice that I am already starting another theme which is hilarious considering how I said I wouldn’t do this in my last post. The theme for this month is books. Stacks of books, books floating in the air (both open and closed). But then I added in a moon… and stars… I wonder if space will slowly find its way into all the months. Only time will tell.
The core of my February spread is drawing. I started by drawing the outlines for all of the book and the moon. I typically do the drawing in two phases. First I do the pencil sketch and then I do a pen outline. This helps minimize my mistakes. I still make them, just… less.
I then added the paper. A glue stick was my weapon of choice for adding the paper into the design. And I did just add it however I felt works. There wasn’t a lot of through going into this. I originally had cloud drawn into the design but that was switched over to the paper.
Last, I decided to use markers to color in the design. I like using markers in books because once it dries, I don’t have to worry about it smudging. This is why I typically stay away from pencil or crayons. Although I am curious to investigate ways to prevent that effect using these mediums (if you have any tips, leave them in the comments!)
I decided to carry over the design to my goal page as well! I did not put a design on the calendar page and it does feel a little lonely when I look at it. Something to work on next month!
Classic Weekly Spread
The classic weekly spread of the MCG 2024 journal consists of a mini calendar that shows the month. I like to use a highlighter to highlight which week it in on the calendar. Under the calendar is my daily gratitude. I think it’s important to highlight one positive thing that happens each day. Yes, life is hard, there is no denying that. But reminding yourself of the small things is important too.
The core of the spread is eight boxes. One for each day of the week and the last one is labeled “any time” for tasks that aren’t assigned to a day but still need to get done or be remembered. Then there is a column on the side open for whatever you want it to be! Not all weeks are standard. Some include more days because the month started on a Saturday instead of a Sunday, but I did my best to make sure every week made some sense.
Last Months Habits
I realized that I always show my habit tracker at the beginning of the month but never at the end. So, this time I wanted to show you my last month’s habit tracker. This is still in progress because I did take this picture a little bit before writing the article. I clearly have some habits that are not being done consistently but that are just an area to improve!
