A Bullet Journal is a great way to keep your life in one place and have notes on what you need to do while being creative!
I feel like this is the first month that has caught me off guard. The time just dissapeared! I looked around and suddenly the end of the month was here, and I was not ready for June. I feel like I am panicking in the background at any given time. This was especially true for my June bullet journal as having Monday off for Memorial Day really threw me off.
So, here’s is my panic edition for the 2024 June Bullet Journal! Because I had already drawn a rough sketch of what I had planned on doing, I charged forward with my original plan. Just with a dash of urgency.
I decided to see what would happen if I painted in my notebook using acrylic paint. I have typically used watercolor paint for my bullet journals, but I thought this would be a fun new test. How well does acrylic paint work? I did do some research and found that others have painted in notebooks before, so I figured, why not try it?

June
For me, I have a lot of associations with the summer and boats from my childhood. I decided that June would be a great time to incorporate some sort of boat like image into my bullet journal. I did decide to do a quick outline of the image because I was nervous about how the paint would interact with the pencil. Mainly, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to erase the pencil after.
Then it was time to go a bit free form. I had the outline and I had paint. While the boat itself got a little bit of paint inside the line, the rest of the page was an open canvas. I knew which sections would be the sea and which would be the sky.
The real challenge was figuring out which colors to use where. Since I wanted this to be a night scene, I was worried that the blue between the sky and the water wouldn’t be different enough. To create a bit of an offset, I decided to mix some green into the water, and some black and dark blues into the night sky.
June Habits and Calendar
To be honest, I was having a lot of trouble figuring out how to tie in the ocean to my June habits and calendar. Then I decided to integrate the colors and medium (acrylic paint) to get the vibe of the cover page but not have a direct image link.
I decided that swirls and swooshes was a good way to go as it has that free flow, water like vibe that I think really works well for the month. And it let me go freeform and just do it how I felt!
Last Month’s Habits
Where did the month go? Can someone please stop time? In all reality, I am proud of how many habits I was able to consistently do through last month all things considered. We are dealing with a stressful time due to our cat’s medical issues and holding my life together has been a struggle. I was really glad to have my habit tracker in times like this to remind myself of the things that would make me feel better.
Let it Flow
Pun intended. I often go in with a plan, but it was really fun just going in with the barest idea of a plan. Especially for the calendar and habit track pages. I just let my hand go and figured it out as I went. As I was painting, some sections did feel a little barer than others, but I just added more paint! I really like the way it turned out.
