Butter Cookies

Butter cookies are rich, crumbly cookies that have an undeniable buttery goodness. Perfect for pairing with chocolate or eating by itself.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup + 2 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter softened
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 ¾ Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • Pinch of Salt
  • ½ Cup Milk Chocolate optional (for decorating)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture and mix until just combined.
  4. Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a medium star nozzle. Pipe the dough into 5cm swirls on a lined baking tray.
  5. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until a pale golden.
  6. Leave to cool on the trays for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completed.
  7. Optional: In a small bowl, melt the chocolate in a microwave on 15 second burst. Dip the cookies, one at a time, into the chocolate to cover half of the cookie. Allow chocolate to cool and harden.
