Sweet Brioche Rolls

This is a sweeter than normal brioche bun that can be paired perfectly with any savory snack or be delicious on it’s own. The texture of the bread is flaky and spongey and provides a great carrier as a tasty treat!

Total Time 6 hours
Servings: 8 Buns
Course: Side Dish, Snack

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • 3 Tbsp Warm Milk
  • 2 Tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 8 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 3 1/3 Cups Bread Flour
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter softened

Method

  1. Mix together water and milk. Warm together (I usually use a microwave on 10 second bursts until the mixture is lukewarm)
  2. Whisk yeast and sugar together and pour into the water/milk mixture. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Beat 1 egg in a separate bowl
  4. Using a stand mixer with dough hook attachment, add flour, salt and butter.
  5. Gentle stir yeast mixture to make sure everything is dissolved.
  6. Pour yeast mixture and beaten egg into the stand mixer. Run mixer on low until dough forms. (about 5 to 10 minutes)
  7. Shape dough into a ball inside of the bowl. Cover with a damp towel. Let the dough rise until doubled in size (about 1 to 2 hours).
  8. Turn out dough, divide dough into eight pieces and shape into balls
  9. Place balls on baking sheet and cover. Rest until puffy and risen (about 1 to 2 hours)
  10. Preheat oven to 400 F. Place skillet or baking dish on the bottom rack. Add 1/2 cup of water to the dish just before adding the dough into the oven
  11. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  12. Cool on wire rack and Enjoy!!!

Notes

Optional Toppings
If you want to add toppings to your brioche buns, you can! Add an egg wash before placing them into the oven and then sprinkle with any toppings you desire! I would recommend sesame seeds but I always recommend sesame seeds.
