2026 July Bullet Journal: The Lovers

It’s amazing how life can be hectic but also feel like nothing is happening. The recent heat wave caused a power outage. The open items on my work desk continue to pile up. I feel like every time I get the list down a little, more items have been added. Nothing out of the normal, but weirdly exhausting.

And that exhaustion has been carried home with me more than once. There would be small items that I wanted to take care of at home, but never managed to. Sometimes, a lot of little things can build up into one large thing. And then it’s only a needle that will cause all hell to break loose.

And I once again am using my bullet journal to ground myself. I am especially grateful for it when it comes to many small items. I can remember the big ones so long as there are only a few. If there are multiple large projects, then I have a very different problem on my hands.

July Design

This month’s tarot card is the Lovers (6). I wanted to do this tarot card on its own because I feel like the idea just took up an entire page. It didn’t feel right to share this card with anyone else. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to have the two lovers on the same page or if they should be separated by the calendar. I decided to keep them together.

This spread is a little more special than some of the ones I have done in the past. That’s because this design is my own. While I did take some inspiration from the decks I’ve been using, I got a different idea in my head that I wanted to act upon.

This is one of the sketches that has quite a bit of pencil marks because there is a cutout of spaces that is vital to the design. Mainly the heart. Another different approach I took for this monthly spread was not using a black marker for the outline. I thought it would be more impactful to have the figures be fully outlined in their own colors.
