2026 August Bullet Journal: The Chariot & Justice

It is so close to August, and I feel like a lot of things are falling into place. There is a large deadline for my job that is coming up, and I know the dam of emotions will be released into relief once it’s passed. Something inside me seems to have shifted, and I feel a lot more relaxed about things.

In the last month, we have experienced hotter temperatures, the smoke from a wildfire, and some crazy winds. In some weird way, it makes me feel alive. And I am hoping to carry this high into August. I am curious to see what summer vibes August will bring, and I am hoping for a little calm. Although it might just be the eye of the storm.

This month’s spread is inspired by the Tarot cards Justice and the Chariot. August was one of the first times I felt like I didn’t have enough space to do what I wanted to do. I decided to use the Persona 3 cards as my main inspiration. Both designs are vertically dependent, and there is no good way to modify them to be more horizontal.

The calendar for August didn’t help either since it takes up six lines. I started sketching out the calendar with three days on the left side and four days on the right. Once I had it outlined, I realized just how little space I had.

I wanted to have the sword on the left side to get the full effect of the justice. But I could not figure out how to put the chariot in the remaining space. The result was putting the chariot in the left panel and justice under the calendar on the right.

Just having those two things felt a little lacking, so I decided to create a border around the page as well. I wanted to take the design off of the chariot and use it as a border since I thought it looked cool.

Habit Tracker Spread

Since August has a larger calendar, I ended up spreading out the calendars for my habits a bit more than normal. For other months, I have had 5 calendars in a column, but at most I could fit 4 due to the layout this time around. This pushes me into 3 columns no matter what since I have 10 habits I was to track. I tried to lean into it, giving a generous space for the key to my plot chart as well as a space for monthly goals.

Monthly goals are not something I typically do because I am bad at making overarching goals, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
