2022 Temperature Shawl (A Recap)

This 2022 Temperature Shawl was a monster of a piece that came out in a beautiful design!

This Temperature Shawl was supposed to take a year. It took a bit more than a year given that I got behind on my knitting and things got a little crazy here and there. I wanted to get as much done when I could but I always felt like I was falling farther and farther behind.

But I finally finished it, and this shawl was a beast. It turned into a three hundred and sixty-six stitch nightmare. The project just kept growing bigger and bigger. At one point, the weight of the project caused the circular knitting needles to break.

I used circular knitting needles to help distribute the weight! And while it did help my wrists, it did seem to be too much for the needles. I had to switch to knitting needles that has a longer cable because the project just kept growing and growing and growing.

I definitely feel that I could have made some better decisions. One of my biggest regrets is doing a constant increase over the whole project.  What I should have done is increased the stitches for half of the project and then switched to a decrease stitch.

So, in the spirit of that, I decided to rewrite the knitting pattern to reflect the way I would have done it if I were to knit this pattern again.

But even if this temperature shawl is a beast, it is absolutely gorgeous!
